Applications

Prior application we received form few of many students that earned the laptop.

Good evening. My name is Larissa Belle, I'm a senior at Ramsay High School located in Birmingham, Alabama. As an incoming first-generation college student whose educational goal is to study a 4-year-degree in Public Health to become an epidemiologist, I have always wanted to attend college. As an epidemiologist, I plan to host community workshops and educate the community about medical malpractice laws, insurance rights, and billing protections. Receiving this laptop will do more than fund my education; it will empower me to step confidently into my academic journey. Pursuing a four-year degree in Public Health on the path to becoming an epidemiologist requires students to use a laptop, take online courses, and access digital course materials. This will allow me to focus on my studies and make a meaningful difference in my community.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Larissa Belle

Dear Selection Committee,

My name is Skylar Hamilton, and I am a recent Cum Laude graduate of Landmark Christian School in Fairburn, GA. As a student-athlete (2x football captain and All State QB), I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the United States Military Academy at West Point in NY.

I am writing to inquire about the assistance your organization is offering to new graduates in obtaining a new laptop.  As I prepare for the rigorous academic demands of West Point, having reliable access to a computer would be extremely beneficial in supporting my studies as I major in Management within the Dept of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership.

Upon graduating as a commissioned officer and fulfilling my service commitment, my future plans are to pursue a career in Sports Broadcasting.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Skylar Hamilton

Dear Eddie Lee Stevens, Jr. Foundation,

Janiya Daniels

South Atlanta High School

I need a laptop to help me succeed in school and prepare for my future career. I plan to major in Psychology and become an adolescent therapist to help teenagers with their mental health and emotional well-being. A laptop will help me complete assignments, research, attend classes, and stay organized as I work toward my goals.

My name is Eugene Turner III. I graduated on May 14th from Banneker High School. This fall, I will be attending Georgia Southern University to major in Computer Engineering. A laptop will be needed and appreciated as my major will require me to use programs such as Visual Studio Code, KiCad, and MATLAB. These programs require a computer to run and will be required for many of my classes. These programs handle coding, circuit building, and physics and math simulations. I will need a device that is able to handle running these programs to effectively learn and pass my courses. A laptop will be greatly appreciated for this. My future plans outside of college include, maintaining my current practice of acting as a hardware and technology consultant. I wish to use my skills and experience to work in the computer engineer, computer science, and electrical engineering field. Outside of my consultancy business, I wish to further my political career outside of just youth politics. Making an impact in my city is my first goal and wherever God leads me afterwards is where I plan to go.

I am grateful for the opportunity to apply for this giveaway.

Thank you,
Eugene Turner III
